Andy Hedges
Director
Prior to embarking on a safety career Andy was an industrial electrician and automation engineer. A highly qualified and experienced safety professional with wide ranging experience in facilities management, projects, engineering and manufacturing.
Andy’s career has included senior positions with world leading engineering and facilities management organisations operating across the UK and mainland Europe. Experience gained within these organisations has included risk management in high risk engineering environments, extensive auditing skills, safety in manufacturing environments and developing and delivering training programmes. Career experience has also included considerable engagement with regulatory bodies including the HSE and the EA.
Andy has also developed a very keen interest in Safety Culture change and has developed large scale programmes delivered successfully to over 1000 employees across a variety of disciplines. The level of engagement achieved during these programmes has produced measurable improvements in safety performance within these businesses.
Andy has always felt that getting in front of the people is one of the greatest ways to achieve improvements in safety behaviours so is passionate about getting on to the shop floor and on to sites, whether that is to deliver training or focus on improving culture.
One of Andy’s beliefs is in the value of auditing as a business improvement tool. Andy has managed many audits on behalf of a variety of businesses and is a qualified ISO45001 lead auditor
Away from the day-to-day safety world Andy has had years of involvement with amateur boxing and was involved in the running of an amateur gym for many years.
On a Saturday afternoon you will find both Andy, along with any other family members they can drag along, at AFC Telford United Football Club where they have held season tickets for a number of years. Together they also sponsor a player each year as a great way to support local football. Exercise plays a big part in Andy’s life and running is a big passion, he loves running off road on hills and tracks with his son Joe, although as time creeps on the old man is routinely left behind by the young whippet.
Lisa Marsden-Hedges
Director
Lisa’s career in safety started within the utilities industry, working with some of the biggest names in that sector.
Lisa’s career progressed to managing a team of safety professionals with one of the worlds largest facilities management and technical services providers. Her career has involved working both UK wide and across mainland Europe.
Lisa has a keen interest in event safety, which has led to her recently completing an international diploma in event safety and crowd management, she really enjoys the pre-event management activities as well as spending days in a field, helping to ensure events pass off safely.
Lisa also has experience in operational delivery, having been an account manager providing a full suite of maintenance and compliance services for a leading high street bank. This experience has given her great insight into the challenges facing both operational delivery and safety specialists.
Lisa has a background in theatre arts and as a result of this she is known as being very creative when looking for new ways to engage people and spread the safety message, whether this is in a training room or simply engaging with people where they are at.
Outside of work, Lisa has a keen interest in supporting young people in the development of confidence and social skills. She leads a local drama club which offers free sessions to any young people in the local community and loves the change she sees in the young people that the group engages with.
